Children’s Class

Active Kids
Creative Kids

Penrith Ballroom Dance is a Registered Provider for both the Active Kids and the Creative Kids programs.

Penrith Ballroom Dance offers a fantastic and enjoyable experience for children with their weekly specially designed children’s classes where they are taught correct technique and movement.

Children who ballroom dance learn the qualities of respect, teamwork, self-confidence and a sense of joy and accomplishment.

These fun-filled classes are for children aged from 4 years up to and including Year 12 aged students. The classes cover the three styles of Ballroom Dancing – Modern Standard, Latin American and New Vogue Sequence Dances.

Medal Classes

The children’s Medal classes are held on a Monday afternoon and run in the school term, with the dates based on NSW Public School terms.

Students are given the opportunity to complete medal tests at various times during the year.

What Our Dancers Say About Us

I have wanted to learn Ballroom Dancing all of my life, but somehow the years raced past and life got in the way.

At long last I am delighted to be in the U3A beginner’s Class and would like to say a big “thank you” to Therese Walz for your patience, your sense of humour and your dedication to teaching us how to dance well! Read more...

Therese, you are a wonderful teacher, you explain things very clearly, take time to help anyone who is struggling, you have a lot of patience and are able to communicate well with both adults and children alike.

As a lot of parents do, we wanted to provide the opportunity for our children to dance from an early age to develop their sense of rhythm and also confidence. Their first dance studio offered jazz ballet, tap and traditional ballet. This was nice at the start but after a couple of years, their routines were becoming a bit inappropriate for their age, Read more...

When we started with Penrith Ballroom Dance, all we had was a vague idea that we wanted to do more than just move randomly in time with the music and we had looked enviously at those couples who could actually dance. Neither of us had the slightest idea of how to dance, we both had 'two left feet' and we were very nervous at appearing foolish and uncoordinated. Read more...

In my experience, learning to dance at Penrith Ballroom Dance has been fantastic. I first joined the studio when I was 12 years old and took part in the children's beginners class. I worked hard and enjoyed every moment of it, progressing through the years and the medals. Read more...

Before starting our lessons with Penrith Ballroom Dance in late 2005 we were apprehensive and somewhat nervous. We did not know the difference between a rumba, samba or cha cha cha. Even foxtrot, waltz and quickstep were just names of dances we had seen in crosswords. However, at our first lesson we were warmly welcomed and found how easy it was Read more...

My fiance loves to dance, whereas I could not, and she wanted to dance at our wedding, not just stand there and sway.

Before we started our lessons I didn't think it would be possible for me to learn to dance, until I met the principal of Penrith Ballroom Dance. I said to my fiance that she doesn't know how lucky she was to find a teacher like Therese. Read more...
